Sonata 1 Light Glass Pendant Light - Bronze

The Sonata is a 15cm bronze glass pendant light with a sculpted double-tier shade mounted on an antique brass suspension rod. The glass is hand-blown into a double-gourd profile with a pronounced waist separating the upper and lower chambers, creating an internal structure that refracts light through multiple layers of tinted bronze glass. An E27 bulb inside the shade (sold separately) illuminates the glass from within, turning the bronze tint into a warm amber glow.

Designed for single installation over side tables, dining corners and hallways, or clustered in odd-number groups over kitchen islands and dining tables, the Sonata works in spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The adjustable drop runs from 535mm minimum to 1500mm maximum, allowing the pendant to be set 600-800mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on the ceiling height. The antique brass canopy and rod contrast with the bronze glass, giving the fitting a two-tone metallic accent that pairs with both warm and neutral interiors.

The double-tier glass profile gives the Sonata more visual presence than a single-sphere pendant of the same width, while the 150mm diameter remains compact enough for tighter spaces. The 1.7kg weight needs secure fixing to a ceiling joist or suitable support — the antique brass canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses. The bronze glass finish reduces glare when looking directly at the pendant, making it suitable for eye-level positions in hallways and beside seating.

What bulb does the Sonata take?

The pendant takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair the bronze glass with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-6W and 2700K to enhance the amber glow through the glass. The pendant is dimmable when paired with a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch.

Can multiple Sonata pendants be clustered together?

Yes. The 150mm diameter and compact drop make the Sonata suitable for clustering in groups of three or five over kitchen islands or dining tables. When clustering, space pendants 300-400mm apart at their widest point to avoid visual crowding.

What's the difference between minimum and maximum drop?

The cable is adjustable on installation. The minimum drop of 535mm is the shortest height the pendant can be set, while the maximum drop of 1500mm allows it to hang lower in rooms with high ceilings or for installations over dining tables where more separation from the ceiling is needed.

What ceiling height is needed?

For a single pendant over a side table or hallway console, a ceiling height of 2.4m or above works comfortably. For installation over a dining table where the pendant hangs 700-800mm above the surface, a ceiling height of 2.5m or higher is recommended to maintain headroom around the table.
