Description

The Solyra is a 38cm metal cage pendant light finished in brown with a metallic sheen, built around vertical ribs that curve outward from a narrow neck at the top and taper back in at the base. A single E27 bulb fitting sits at the centre of the cage, visible through the gaps between the metal ribs. The pendant hangs on a fabric-covered cable that runs through the brown metal canopy.

Designed for installation over dining tables, kitchen islands and in entrance halls where ceiling heights allow a pendant to hang 600-800mm above a surface, the Solyra works as both task lighting and ambient light depending on the bulb fitted. The metal cage diffuses light outward through the gaps between ribs while the central bulb remains visible, so the choice of bulb (clear filament, frosted, or LED globe) affects the overall aesthetic. The 38cm diameter suits tables 1.2-1.6m wide or island worktops up to 1.8m long when used as a single pendant.

The brown finish has a metallic base that catches light differently depending on the angle, shifting between warmer bronze tones and cooler gunmetal greys. The pendant uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. The bulb is visible through the cage, so a decorative filament bulb, frosted globe or clear LED bulb all work depending on the aesthetic you prefer. Maximum wattage depends on the bulb type but most users fit a 6-10W LED.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the pendant is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable E27 bulb. The dimmer and bulb must both support dimming for the system to work correctly.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant itself is 375mm tall. When hung over a dining table or kitchen island, it typically sits 600-800mm above the surface. For a standard 2.4m ceiling height, this allows comfortable headroom. Lower ceilings can still work if the cable is shortened during installation.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means it is not water-resistant and should only be used in dry indoor locations. It is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor areas, or any location where it may be exposed to moisture.
