Description

The Soltus is a minimalist floor lamp built around a black marble cylinder base, a slender powder-coated metal stem and a single E27 bulb fitting on an adjustable arm. The marble base provides 3-4kg of ballast, keeping the lamp stable on both hard floors and rugs without needing a weighted foot. The exposed cable runs from the base to a mid-stem switch and continues along the adjustable arm to the lamp head.

Designed for reading positions next to sofas, armchairs and desks, the Soltus acts as directed task lighting rather than ambient room lighting. The lamp head sits on a pivoting joint, allowing the light to be angled towards a book, a worktop or up onto a wall. The 4.3m cable gives flexibility in placement without needing the lamp positioned immediately next to a wall socket. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor rooms.

The black marble base shows natural tonal variation and veining depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Soltus lamps look identical. The powder-coated finish on the metal stem and arm provides a matt black surface that softens reflections under daylight. The lamp accepts any standard E27 bulb up to the wattage limit specified in the manual (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the room. What bulb does the Soltus take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. The maximum wattage depends on the bulb type and is specified in the manufacturer's manual. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb at 2700K-3000K for reading.

Can the lamp head be adjusted?

Yes. The lamp head sits on a pivoting joint on the adjustable arm, allowing it to be angled towards a reading position, a desk surface or up onto a wall. The arm itself can be repositioned along the stem.

Does the marble base vary between pieces?

Yes. Each base is cut from natural black marble, so the tonal variation, veining and mineral patterns differ between individual lamps. This is characteristic of natural stone, not a defect.

Is the cable switch inline or on the base?

The cable switch is inline, positioned mid-stem between the marble base and the adjustable arm. The 4.3m cable allows the lamp to be placed away from the wall socket if needed.
