Description

The Solstice is a 212mm LED outdoor wall light with an integrated PIR motion sensor, housed in a brown powder-coated aluminium body with an adjustable opal polycarbonate diffuser. The 21W integrated LED produces 3000K warm white light, and the diffuser tilts on its mount to direct light up, down, or straight ahead depending on what needs illuminating.

Designed for residential exterior walls, garden paths, driveways, and covered entranceways, the Solstice combines security lighting with controlled ambient light. The PIR sensor detects movement within its range and switches the LED on automatically, holding the light for a set duration before switching off when no further motion is detected. An optional twilight sensor prevents the PIR activating during daylight hours, saving energy and extending LED lifespan. The IP54 rating protects the internal components against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for wall-mounting under eaves, on boundary walls, or on outbuilding facades.

The brown powder-coat finish resists UV degradation and corrosion from rain exposure, maintaining its colour over outdoor use. The opal polycarbonate diffuser is impact-resistant and distributes the LED output evenly without creating harsh hotspots or glare. The 100mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact on narrow side passages and beside doorways where deeper fittings would obstruct movement.

Is the Solstice suitable for fully exposed outdoor use?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes, making it suitable for wall-mounting under eaves, on covered porches, or on walls where it receives some overhead protection. It is not rated for full submersion or continuous heavy rain exposure directly onto the top surface.

Can the motion sensor sensitivity be adjusted?

Most PIR sensors on Ideal Lux outdoor fittings allow adjustment of detection range and timer duration via controls accessible behind the cover plate or on the back of the fitting. Check the included installation manual for the specific adjustment controls on the Solstice.

Does it include the twilight sensor or is that an optional extra?

The twilight sensor is typically an optional feature that can be enabled or disabled via a switch on the fitting. Refer to the product manual to confirm whether this model includes the twilight sensor as standard or requires a separate component.
