Description
The Solenia is a single-head LED floor lamp built around a slender powder-coated black metal column rising from a circular weighted base, with an adjustable conical shade housing an integrated 4.5W 3000K LED. The shade rotates on its mounting and tilts through approximately 90 degrees, allowing the light to be directed onto a reading position, desk surface, or upward as indirect wash light.
Designed as task lighting rather than ambient room lighting, the Solenia suits reading corners next to an armchair, beside sofas, and in home offices where directed light is needed without installing a fixed ceiling fitting. The 280mm base diameter provides stability on bare floors and rugs, and the narrow column footprint of 450mm projection from wall keeps the lamp close to furniture without requiring excessive floor space. The integrated LED runs at 4.5W on 230V mains, delivering warm white light at 3000K without the need to source or replace separate bulbs.
The powder-coated black metal finish is consistent across the base, column and shade, giving a unified appearance that sits comfortably within industrial, contemporary and minimalist interiors. The shade opening is approximately 80mm diameter, creating a focused beam rather than diffused ambient light, which makes the Solenia more suitable for task applications than general room lighting. The black PVC cable runs internally through the column and exits at the base, fitted with an inline rocker switch for easy on-off control without reaching for a wall socket. The IP20 rating limits the Solenia to dry indoor locations — living rooms, bedrooms, studies, offices — and it is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.

Frequently Asked
Is the Solenia dimmable?
No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed 4.5W output and is not compatible with dimmer switches. If dimming is required, consider pairing the Solenia with a smart plug that offers brightness control, though this is not officially supported by Ideal Lux.
Can the shade be adjusted?
Yes. The conical shade rotates horizontally on its mounting and tilts vertically through approximately 90 degrees, allowing the light to be directed onto a reading position, a desk, or upward onto a wall or ceiling as wash light.
What is the light output in lumens?
Ideal Lux has not published a lumen rating for the 4.5W LED in the Solenia. Based on similar integrated LED task lamps, expect approximately 300-400 lumens, which is suitable for focused task lighting rather than general room illumination.
Where can the Solenia be used?
The IP20 rating limits the Solenia to dry indoor locations — living rooms, bedrooms, studies, home offices. It is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens with heavy steam, or outdoor use.
