Description

The Solarium Small is a 40mm diameter glare protection hood designed to fit onto Ideal Lux outdoor spotlights. The grey metal hood extends 30mm forward from the spotlight body and creates a recessed aperture that narrows the beam angle, reducing light spill and glare outside the intended illumination area.

Fitted to pathway lights, wall-mounted uplighters and recessed ground spotlights where glare control is needed, the hood directs light onto the target surface while shielding the bulb from direct view at eye level. This improves visual comfort for anyone walking past the spotlight and reduces light pollution into neighbouring windows or gardens. The hood fixes onto compatible Ideal Lux outdoor spotlights using two fixing points visible in the aperture rim.

The grey powder-coated metal finish matches Ideal Lux's Solarium outdoor spotlight range and is weatherproof for year-round outdoor use. The 40mm outer diameter suits small to medium GU10 and MR16 spotlights where the existing beam angle is too wide for the application or where the fitting sits at a height where glare would otherwise be uncomfortable. The hood does not reduce light output but concentrates it into a tighter cone.
