Description

The Solarae is a 12-light suspension fitting built around a central polished gold column from which twelve brass arms radiate in a molecular configuration. Each arm terminates in a clear blown glass globe housing a G4 bulb fitting, with the globes varying in distance from the central axis to create a three-dimensional structure. The overall width measures 1.28m across the outer globes, and the fitting drops 593mm from ceiling to the lowest point of the frame.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, large dining rooms above 4m x 4m, and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.8m or more, the Solarae provides distributed ambient light across a wide area. The central column mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose via a round canopy that conceals the wiring. The twelve G4 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the clear glass globes, with the blown glass acting as a diffuser rather than a lens, softening the point-source light without fully enclosing it. This gives the fitting a visible bulb aesthetic when lit.

The polished gold finish on the metal frame and arms catches and reflects both daylight and artificial light, adding warmth to neutral and cool-toned interiors. Each blown glass globe shows minor variations in thickness and clarity from the hand-blown manufacturing process. The molecular arrangement of the arms creates different silhouettes depending on viewing angle, with the structure appearing more compact when viewed from directly below and more extended when viewed from the side. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments only.
