Sola 1 Light Pendant - Polished Nickel, Clear Glass

The Sola is a single pendant light built around a cylindrical mouth-blown glass shade with a raised diamond pattern, suspended on a black fabric cable from a polished nickel canopy and ceiling plate. The glass is clear, allowing the lamp inside to be visible when lit, and the raised diamond texture refracts light through the surface of the shade rather than diffusing it evenly.

Designed for installation over dining tables, kitchen islands and in hallways where a single pendant provides both task and decorative function, the Sola works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The drop is adjustable on installation by shortening the fabric cable, allowing the pendant to be set 700-800mm above a dining surface or 600-900mm above a kitchen worktop depending on the specific ceiling height. The polished nickel metalwork at the top of the shade and on the ceiling plate pairs with the clear glass to suit both warm-toned and cooler contemporary interiors.

The mouth-blown glass gives each shade slight variation in the diamond pattern and thickness, so individual pendants differ fractionally in how light refracts through the surface. The pendant takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or decorative filament bulbs depending on the desired light temperature and style. The polished nickel finish on the metalwork reflects ambient light and adds a warm metallic accent without the yellow cast of brass or the cooler tone of polished chrome.

What bulb does it take?

The Sola takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining tables, or a decorative filament bulb where the lamp itself is a visible part of the design.

Is the drop adjustable?

Yes. The fabric cable can be shortened during installation to suit the specific ceiling height and intended position above a table or worktop. The standard drop allows for ceilings of 2.4m or higher.

Can multiple Sola pendants be installed together?

Yes. Multiple Sola pendants can be installed in a row over a long dining table or kitchen island. The polished nickel finish and clear glass design allow them to work as a cohesive group without visual clutter.

How is the glass cleaned?

The clear glass shade can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner. The raised diamond pattern may collect dust in the recesses, so a soft brush or dry cloth run along the texture before wiping helps remove loose particles.
