Description

This cheerful earthenware mug carries four simple words, 'SO HAPPY YOU EXIST', in tall serif lettering across a white gloss body. The words are printed in two shades of red, a deep wine red for 'so' and 'you' and a brighter red for 'happy' and 'exist', so the message reads clearly from across the table. The handle is a bold red and the inside is red too, which ties the whole mug together every time you lift it. It holds 11oz, a generous everyday measure for tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and stands 9.5cm tall and 8.5cm deep, so it sits comfortably in the hand.

It is a mug for the small moments that matter: the first cup of the morning, a quiet break at a desk, a slow weekend coffee. Because the words do the talking, it makes a heartfelt gift for someone who brightens your days, whether you hand it over with a card or leave it by the kettle as a surprise. It suits a kitchen shelf, a home office or a desk at work, where it reminds its owner, every time they reach for it, that somebody is glad they are around. We like it as a gift that says something kind without needing a long speech.

The body is earthenware, a classic ceramic for everyday mugs, finished in a smooth gloss glaze that keeps the white bright and the red rich. As the lettering is printed on the outside, we suggest washing it gently by hand in warm soapy water with a soft cloth and drying it straight away, and keeping scourers and abrasive cleaners away from the printed side so the words stay crisp. To give it, fill it with a few wrapped chocolates or tuck a bag of their favourite tea or coffee inside, and it becomes a thoughtful little present that is ready to use from the first morning.
