Description
This is a small golf ball LED bulb in smoked glass, 4.5cm in diameter and 8.5cm long, with a spiral filament coiling through the centre and a brass-coloured E14 screw cap. The smoky tint comes from a vapour finish on the glass, black yet transparent, so the bulb looks like a dark globe until it is lit and then glows a warm amber. It draws 4W and gives 100lm at 2000K, a very warm white with a golden tone. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms only.
At 100lm this bulb is made to be seen rather than to light a whole room, and it is not suitable as a main light source. We would put it where the glass and the spiral are on show: a bare pendant, a small table lamp with an open shade, or a wall light with an exposed E14 holder. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways, working alongside a brighter main light, and it gives a sideboard or a bedside corner a low, golden glow for the evening. If you want the look of a vintage filament bulb with the low draw of an LED, this is a good choice.
It is dimmable, so on a dimmer the glow can be turned lower for a quiet evening. It runs on mains power at 220 to 240V and 50/60Hz. The vapour finish gives the glass its black transparent tint, so the spiral stays visible whether the bulb is lit or not, and it weighs 0.027KG packed. Before you order, check that your lamp holder takes an E14 screw cap and that the shade or fitting leaves room for a bulb 4.5cm in diameter and 8.5cm long.

Frequently Asked
Can this bulb be the main light in a room?
No. At 100lm it is a decorative bulb and not suitable as a main light source, so we pair it with a brighter main light and use it for a warm glow.
Is the smoked golf ball bulb dimmable?
Yes, it is dimmable, so on a dimmer you can lower the warm 2000K glow for a softer, quieter evening light.
Which cap does it have?
It has an E14 screw cap, the small Edison screw size, in a brass-coloured finish, so check your lamp holder is E14 before you order.
Can it go in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. It is rated IP20, so it belongs indoors in dry rooms only and should not go in a bathroom or outdoors.
How warm is the light?
Very warm. It gives 100lm at 2000K from 4W, a golden white that shows as an amber glow through the smoked glass.
How big is the bulb?
It is 4.5cm in diameter and 8.5cm long, a compact golf ball shape, so check that your shade or fitting leaves enough room for it.
