Description

The Slim is a black ceiling fan light with four retractable transparent blades and an integrated 80W LED light panel housed in a 496mm diameter central drum. The blades fold flat against the drum when the fan is switched off, presenting as a low-profile black disc ceiling light, then extend to a 1060mm span when the fan motor is activated. The LED panel delivers 5500lm output with adjustable colour temperature from 2700K warm white to 5000K daylight white, controlled via the included remote.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms and home offices with ceiling heights of 2.4-3m, the Slim pairs ambient lighting with summer cooling and winter air circulation in a single ceiling-mounted fitting. The DC motor runs quieter than conventional AC fan motors and draws less power at equivalent airflow. The remote controls fan speed (multiple settings), LED brightness (dimmable) and colour temperature independently, so the fan can run without the light or the light without the fan. The 310-435mm drop from ceiling to blade tips suits standard UK ceiling heights without dominating headroom.

The matt black finish on the central drum and blade housing absorbs light rather than reflecting it, making the fitting less visually prominent in rooms with white or light-coloured ceilings. The transparent blade material reduces visual weight when the blades are extended, so the fan in motion presents as a softer presence than solid-blade designs. Can the fan run without the light and vice versa?

Yes. The remote control operates the fan motor and LED light independently, so the fan can run with the light off or the light can be used without activating the fan.

What ceiling height is required?

The fitting drops 310-435mm from the ceiling depending on the installation rod length chosen. For safe headroom clearance the lowest point of the extended blades should be at least 2.1m above the floor, which typically requires a ceiling height of 2.4m or higher.

How is the colour temperature adjusted?

The included remote control has dedicated buttons to shift the LED colour temperature between 2700K warm white and 5000K daylight white, with incremental steps in between. The setting is retained when the light is switched off and back on.

Does it need reinforced ceiling fixing?

Yes. At 5.2kg the fitting requires a ceiling joist or a ceiling rose rated for dynamic load. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and consult a qualified electrician if uncertain about ceiling load capacity.
