Description

The Slim is an 85mm diameter fixed recessed downlight with an IP65 weatherproof rating, designed for outdoor installation in soffits, patio ceilings and garden structures. The white powder-coated aluminium body fits a 40mm ceiling recess, with the fixture sitting flush once installed. A GU10 bulb (sold separately) provides the light source, up to a maximum 50W rating.

Designed for dry-location outdoor areas under cover, the IP65 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making the fitting suitable for unheated garages, carports, covered balconies and porch ceilings. The fixed orientation directs light straight down, providing functional illumination for pathways, seating areas and doorways. The 85mm diameter aperture casts a focused beam, typically lighting a 1-1.5m diameter area from a 2.4m ceiling height.

The white finish pairs with typical soffit colours and ceiling boards used in UK residential construction. Powder-coated aluminium resists corrosion from damp conditions better than painted mild steel, and the matt surface prevents glare when viewed from adjacent windows. The shallow 40mm recess depth allows installation in standard 50mm ceiling cavities with room for wiring above.
