Description

The Knightsbridge BATM5H is a 5ft (1525mm) LED batten delivering 6150lm from an integrated 43W LED module at 4000K cool white. The pressed steel body with opal polycarbonate diffuser mounts to standard BESA fixings or 600mm centres on suspended ceilings, providing even, glare-reduced light across the 120° beam angle.

Designed for warehouses, workshops, retail back-of-house areas, car parks and commercial corridors where task visibility and energy efficiency matter more than decorative appearance. The modular architecture accepts optional microwave sensor and emergency battery modules (sold separately), allowing sensor-controlled or maintained emergency operation to be added post-installation without replacing the entire fitting. The hinged gear tray opens for wiring access and the push-fit loop-in loop-out terminal accepts up to two 2.5mm² cables per terminal, speeding installation on multi-drop radial circuits.

The 152lm/W efficacy at the LED source and 100,000-hour L70B50 rating deliver long intervals between replacements in high-bay and industrial environments. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations but not wet or dusty spaces. The white powder-coated finish blends into standard commercial ceilings. Rear and end conduit knock-outs accommodate both surface-mount and trunking installations.

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. If dimming is required, consider the BATMD range which offers DALI or mains-dimmable variants.

What mounting options does it support?

The batten mounts to standard BESA boxes or 600mm ceiling grid centres. Rear and end conduit knock-outs allow surface-mount conduit runs or trunking connections. The hinged gear tray opens without removing the fitting from the ceiling, allowing wiring access for loop-in loop-out connections.

Can I add a microwave sensor or emergency module later?

Yes. The modular design accepts optional microwave sensor and emergency battery modules (sold separately) which plug into the driver compartment. These can be retrofitted after initial installation without replacing the entire batten.

What does the L70B50 rating mean?

L70B50 at 100,000 hours means that after 100,000 hours of operation, at least 50% of a batch of these battens will still output at least 70% of their initial lumens. In practical terms, this translates to approximately 11 years of continuous operation before noticeable lumen depreciation in most installations.
