Description

The Knightsbridge SN1610 is a 47mm-deep single-gang surface-mount pattress box moulded from white thermoset resin with an integrated earth terminal and cable strain relief clamps. The box measures 86x86mm on the faceplate footprint and projects 52mm from the wall when fitted, providing 47mm internal depth for switch or socket back boxes.

Designed for surface installation where flush mounting into walls is impractical or prohibited, the pattress box suits solid walls, tiled surfaces, skirting runs and retrofit installations in listed buildings or rented properties. It pairs with the Knightsbridge Square Edge (SN) series of switches and sockets, though it accepts any single-gang accessory with standard UK fixing centres. The integrated earth terminal and cable strain relief meet BS EN 60670 standards for accessory boxes.

The white thermoset resin is tougher than PVC and retains its shape under load and temperature variation. Knightsbridge has tested the material to ISO 22196:2011 for anti-microbial properties, making it suitable for healthcare, education and food-preparation environments where hygiene standards apply. The box carries an IP20 rating for indoor dry-location use and comes with a 25-year warranty against material defects.
