Description
The Knightsbridge NCLB22 is a 653mm single T8 LED-ready batten fitting housed in a grey polycarbonate body with an IP65-rated seal against dust and water jets. The fitting accepts one 2ft (600mm) T8 LED tube and comes pre-wired without a ballast or driver, designed exclusively for use with self-ballasted T8 LED tubes that connect directly to 230V mains.
Built for industrial and commercial environments where moisture, dust and impact are daily concerns — warehouses, workshops, garages, cold stores, covered car parks, agricultural buildings — the polycarbonate body and prismatic diffuser resist cracking under impact and maintain the IP65 seal even after repeated knocks. The fitting mounts to a ceiling or wall using two fixing points spaced 590mm apart, with cable entry via knock-out glands on either end cap.
The prismatic diffuser spreads light output evenly across a wide beam, reducing harsh shadows under the tube whilst maintaining enough light transmission for task visibility. The grey polycarbonate finish blends into industrial settings without drawing attention, and the impact-resistant construction handles the kind of rough treatment common in working environments where fittings are knocked by ladders, trolleys and building materials.
LED tubes are sold separately. The fitting is Class I and requires an earth connection. Dimming capability depends on whether the chosen T8 LED tube supports dimming — the fitting itself imposes no restriction but provides no active dimming circuitry.

Frequently Asked
What T8 LED tube does it take?
The fitting takes one 2ft (600mm) T8 LED tube with a self-ballast (also called direct-to-mains or ballast-bypass tubes). The fitting has no ballast or driver inside — the tube connects directly to 230V. Standard fluorescent T8 tubes will not work.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
The IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas like car ports, loading bays and canopies. It is not rated for full exposure to rain or submersion.
Can it be dimmed?
Dimming depends entirely on whether the T8 LED tube you install supports dimming. The fitting itself has no dimming circuitry — it passes mains voltage directly to the tube. If the tube is dimmable, pair the fitting with a compatible wall dimmer rated for LED loads.
How is the diffuser removed for tube replacement?
The polycarbonate diffuser clips onto the body and is held by spring clips at each end. Push the clips inward to release the diffuser, then lift it away to access the tube. Re-clip the diffuser after replacing the tube.
