Siayan Marble Tray - White

The Siayan is a rectangular marble tray in white, with soft grey veining drifting across its flat top and two block feet that lift it just clear of the table. It measures 30.5cm long, 20cm wide and 2.9cm high, a low, tidy footprint that gathers small things without crowding a shelf or a counter. At 3.3KG it is properly solid, so it stays where you set it and will not skate about when you reach for a bottle or a brush. The square edges and plain outline keep the stone itself as the main feature.

We see it working hardest in the places where clutter tends to settle. On a dressing table it keeps perfume, rings and a hairbrush together in one neat spot; on a kitchen counter it corrals oils, salt and a pepper mill beside the hob; on a coffee table it gives candles and a small plant a cool, pale base. In a bathroom it holds soaps and a hand cream by the basin. It belongs indoors, and it suits anyone who likes a calm, uncluttered surface and wants a single home for the everyday things that otherwise drift around the house.

Marble is a natural material, and every piece is unique, so the veining on your tray follows its own pattern and no two are quite alike. Marble is also a porous stone, which is why we suggest wiping up spills, especially oil, wine and citrus, soon after they happen. The tray is not dishwasher-proof, so clean it by hand with a soft, damp cloth and dry it well. The two feet leave a small gap beneath the slab, so your fingers slip easily under the edge when you lift it, and because of its weight we would always carry it with both hands.
