Description

The Show is a compact 4W LED outdoor wall light in white aluminium that casts twin beams of light upward and downward from a rectangular 12cm x 8cm x 4cm housing. The integrated LED produces 200 lumens at 3000K warm white, split between two apertures on the upper and lower surfaces of the fitting. The dual-beam output creates vertical light patterns on the wall surface, useful for marking doorways, patio edges and pathways at night.

Designed for outdoor residential use, the Show carries an IP54 rating against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for porches, balconies, garden walls and covered terraces. The compact dimensions work on narrow walls alongside doorframes or between windows where a larger fitting would overwhelm the architectural scale. The white finish integrates with painted render, timber cladding and UPVC window frames common on UK homes.

The aluminium housing resists corrosion and the integrated 4W LED operates on AC 100-240V mains without requiring a separate driver box, simplifying installation where back-of-wall space is limited. The 3000K colour temperature sits in the warm white range, closer to incandescent than cool daylight LEDs. The 80 CRI rating provides reasonable colour rendering for plants, brickwork and outdoor furniture, though it does not match the 90+ CRI of interior decorative lighting.

Can this be used in uncovered locations exposed to direct rain?

The IP54 rating protects against water spray from any direction but not sustained direct rain or submersion. The Show works well on covered porches, under eaves, on balconies with overhead shelter, and on walls recessed from the roofline. For fully exposed positions facing weather, look for IP65-rated fittings.

Does the light shine forward from the wall or only up and down?

The LED output exits through apertures on the top and bottom surfaces of the housing, creating vertical beams that wash up and down the wall. There is minimal forward throw. This is a wall-wash accent light, not a security floodlight.

Is the LED replaceable or integrated?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and non-replaceable. The 4W LED typically provides 25,000+ hours of operation (approximately 11 years at 6 hours per night), after which the entire fitting would need replacing.

What wiring method is needed?

The fitting operates on AC 100-240V mains and requires a direct connection to mains wiring via a junction box or back-of-wall socket. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with Part P Building Regulations.
