Description

The Share is a 140mm diameter plaster-in recessed downlight with a fixed GU10 fitting and a white painted aluminium bezel. The housing sits within the ceiling void and is designed to be plastered over during installation, leaving only the circular bezel and lamp aperture visible once the ceiling is finished. The fixed orientation provides a downward light beam suited to general task lighting or ambient illumination in rooms with standard ceiling heights.

Designed for residential new-builds, refurbishments and commercial fit-outs, the plaster-in installation gives a cleaner finish than traditional clip-in downlights by eliminating the visible outer ring. The white bezel blends into white or off-white ceilings, making the fitting almost invisible until switched on. The downlight suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens where recessed lighting is preferred over surface-mounted fittings. The 55mm height requires a minimum ceiling void of 60mm to accommodate the housing and lamp.

The aluminium and plastic construction provides structural rigidity for the plaster-in process while keeping the fitting lightweight. The white finish is a powder-coated paint that resists discolouration under heat from the GU10 lamp. The fitting is 55mm high, so a minimum ceiling void of 60mm is required to accommodate the housing and the GU10 lamp. Standard UK timber joist depths of 100-150mm provide adequate clearance.

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The downlight accepts any GU10 bulb up to 20W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W LED GU10 in 3000K or 4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is needed.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating makes the fitting suitable for dry interior spaces only. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher depending on zone placement.

How is the plaster-in installation done?

The housing is fixed to the ceiling joists or plasterboard before the ceiling is skimmed. The plasterer works around the bezel, bringing the plaster flush with the top edge of the white ring. Once dry, the GU10 lamp is fitted and the downlight is wired to mains by a qualified electrician.
