Description

The Sesimbra is a three-blade ceiling fan with a light set into its centre, so one fitting does two jobs. The body is steel in a satin nickel finish, and the three blades are a soft silver that sits quietly against a pale ceiling. It measures 132cm in diameter and 32cm high. Beneath the motor housing, a round, milky acrylic diffuser covers an integrated LED of 19W giving 2,300 lumens, bright enough to serve as the main ceiling light. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

We would put it in a living room, a bedroom or a home office, anywhere a dry room needs moving air on warm days and good light after dark. At 132cm across, it suits a generously sized room, where the blades have space to turn clear of walls and tall furniture. The light offers three colour temperatures, 3000K, 4000K and 5000K, so you can choose a warm white for evenings, a neutral white for everyday living or a cooler white for working and reading. The light is not dimmable, so the colour temperature, rather than the brightness, is what you adjust.

The fan is controlled by the remote that comes in the box, and it has three speeds, from a gentle stir of air to a stronger breeze. It is also reversible, meaning the blades can turn in either direction, which gives you more say in how the air moves around the room. As a wired mains fitting running on 220 to 240V, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. The packed weight is 6.793KG, worth knowing when you plan the fitting day.
