Serbanne is a wooden pendant light with a rounded, slightly flattened globe shade made from slim wooden slats. A band of woven wood runs around its middle in a herringbone pattern, and a woven ring finishes the open base. The shade measures 38cm across, and the whole light stands 110cm tall overall, from the ceiling rose to the bottom of the shade. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W, which is not included, so you choose the colour and warmth of light yourself. The IP rating is IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room.

We think it suits a living room, a reading corner or a bedroom, anywhere a natural, earthy material sits well beside soft textiles and pale wood furniture. Hung over a dining table or a coffee table, the open slats let light spill out between them while the brown wooden shade keeps the look warm and relaxed. At 38cm across it is generous enough to anchor a seating area without crowding a modest room, and it sits happily with rattan, jute and linen if your home leans towards a calm, relaxed style.
