Seraph 8 Light Chandelier - Copper

The Seraph is an 800mm 8-light chandelier built around a wrought metal frame with looping arms that extend outward from a central column, each terminating in an E14 candle fitting. The frame is hand-painted in a copper finish with an applied antique effect that darkens the recesses and highlights the raised metalwork, giving the chandelier a depth of tone that flat copper lacks.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Seraph suits dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces where the 545mm drop and 800mm diameter can be appreciated from multiple angles. The eight bulbs (sold separately) are visible candle-style fittings, so the choice of bulb shape and filament style affects the overall appearance — clear filament bulbs expose the decorative wire inside, while frosted candles soften the light. The chandelier is dimmable when paired with compatible E14 dimmable bulbs and a mains dimmer.

The metalwork shows visible tooling marks and hand-applied patina variation across individual pieces, characteristic of Ideal Lux's traditional metalworking approach. The antique copper finish works in both period and contemporary interiors, particularly where warm metal tones and mid-brown wood furniture are already present. The 800mm diameter projects approximately 400mm from the central column to the outermost bulb holders, so ceiling rose placement should account for this radial spread when planning installation.

What bulbs does the Seraph take?

The chandelier takes eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair it with 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K). Clear filament bulbs expose the decorative wire and suit traditional interiors, while frosted candles give a softer glow.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible mains dimmer switch. The chandelier itself has no electronic components that restrict dimming — dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulbs you choose.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 545mm drop from ceiling rose to the lowest point of the frame works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In lower-ceiling rooms the chandelier can feel intrusive over dining tables or in circulation areas.

Does the copper finish tarnish or change over time?

The finish is a hand-painted antique copper effect applied over the metal base, not raw copper. It will not tarnish like bare copper but may benefit from occasional dusting with a soft dry cloth to prevent dust buildup dulling the finish.
