Seraph 12 Light Chandelier - Copper

The Seraph is a 950mm diameter chandelier with 12 E14 candle-style bulb holders arranged across a hand-formed copper wire frame. The frame uses thin copper wire bent into flowing arcs and cage structures, with brass-wrapped connection points at the central column. A hand-painted antique finish over the copper gives the metalwork a darker, aged patina rather than bright reflective copper.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces with ceilings of 2.7m or higher, the chandelier provides distributed ambient light across a 3-4m room when fitted with warm-white E14 bulbs. The 825mm drop from ceiling rose to lowest wire arc suits rooms where the chandelier hangs 700-900mm above a dining table or clears head height in a circulation space. Bulbs are sold separately, and the fitting is compatible with dimmable LED E14 bulbs when paired with a suitable dimmer.

Each frame is formed by hand from continuous lengths of wire, so individual chandeliers show slight variation in arc positions and wire tension — this is characteristic of the manufacturing method rather than a defect. The copper wire weighs approximately 4.5kg fully assembled, requiring secure ceiling fixings into a joist or ceiling batten rather than plasterboard alone. The antique finish softens the metalwork's appearance under daylight and reduces glare from the bare wire when the bulbs are lit.

What bulbs does the Seraph take?

The chandelier takes 12 x E14 bulbs (small Edison screw, also called SES or candle bulbs). Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle bulbs in 2700K warm white for a soft ambient effect.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable E14 LED bulbs and connected to a compatible LED dimmer. The IP20 rating means it is suitable for dry indoor locations only, not bathrooms or outdoor use.

What ceiling fixing is required?

The chandelier weighs approximately 4.5kg plus the weight of 12 bulbs. It requires secure fixing into a ceiling joist or batten rather than plasterboard alone. The ceiling rose fixing plate is included and fits standard UK wiring.

Does the copper finish tarnish or change colour over time?

The antique finish is hand-painted onto the copper wire and is designed to look aged from new. The finish is stable indoors and should not tarnish further under normal use, but avoid touching the wire frequently as oils from skin contact can mark the surface.
