Description

The Selvana Large is a 600mm round alabaster wall light cut from a single disc of natural Spanish alabaster, with a small brushed brass centre detail housing the integrated LED. The disc projects just 40mm from the wall, sitting almost flush against the surface, with a 3000K integrated LED concealed behind the stone that backlights the alabaster from within.

Designed as architectural wall lighting for living rooms, hallways, feature staircases and hospitality interiors, the Selvana Large works as a single broad disc on a feature wall or in pairs flanking a fireplace, doorway or bed. The 40mm projection keeps it close enough to the wall to clear traffic in narrow corridors, and the discreet central fixing means it can be mounted at any orientation without an obvious top or bottom.

Each disc is cut from a different section of Spanish alabaster, so the veining, cloudy patches and mineral variation differ between individual pieces. The brushed brass centre puck contrasts against the cool white stone and gives the fitting a single point of warmth when unlit. When the LED is on, light spreads outward from the centre and reveals the full depth of the stone's translucency, with darker veins reading as soft shadows across the lit surface.

At 600mm in diameter the Selvana Large is closer in scale to a piece of wall art than a typical wall light, and is heavy enough to require fixing into a stud or a suitable wall plug. Yes. Each 600mm disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, cloudy patches and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and becomes most visible when the LED is lit.

How is it mounted to the wall?

The Selvana Large fixes via a discreet central mounting point on the rear of the disc. Given the size and weight of the alabaster, fixings should be made into a stud or with appropriately rated wall plugs for masonry. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Is the LED replaceable?

The 3000K LED is integrated into the fitting and is not designed to be replaced as a separate bulb. The LED is rated for tens of thousands of hours of use under normal conditions, and the unit carries a 2-year warranty.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
