Description
The Scope is a 60cm black bollard light with a cylindrical aluminium body and a single GU10 socket at the head. The bollard directs light downward through a glass lens at the top, creating a focused pool of illumination at ground level suitable for pathway edging, driveway borders and garden steps. The IP65 rating means the fitting is sealed against dust ingress and can withstand water jets from any direction, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK weather.
Designed for gardens, driveways, commercial pathways and landscaped areas where wayfinding or boundary marking is needed after dark, the Scope mounts on a hard surface (paving, concrete, tarmac) using the circular base plate. The bollard accepts any GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to 50W (sold separately), allowing you to choose the beam angle, colour temperature and brightness that suits the installation. A narrow-beam GU10 creates a tightly defined circle of light at the bollard's base, while a wide-beam bulb spreads light further across the ground.
The aluminium body is powder-coated in matt black, which resists corrosion and UV degradation better than painted finishes. The 10cm width and 60cm height provide visibility without obstruction — tall enough to be seen above low planting or ground cover, narrow enough not to dominate a pathway edge. The glass lens at the head is impact-resistant and sealed to the body with a gasket to maintain the IP65 rating. The 110-240V AC voltage range means the bollard works on standard UK mains or low-voltage garden lighting circuits depending on your installation setup.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take and is one included?
The Scope takes a GU10 bulb up to 50W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a 5-7W GU10 LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for pathway lighting, though you can choose the beam angle and colour temperature to suit your needs.
Can it be installed on soil or grass?
No. The Scope is designed for hard surface mounting (paving, concrete, tarmac) using the circular base plate. For installation in soil or planted areas, you would need to set a concrete base pad first or use a spiked bollard model instead.
What does IP65 mean in practice?
IP65 means the fitting is fully sealed against dust and can withstand water jets from any direction. In practical terms, the Scope can be left outdoors year-round in UK weather including heavy rain, snow and frost without water entering the electrical components.
How is the light directed?
The glass lens at the top of the bollard directs light downward, creating a pool of illumination at ground level. The exact spread of light depends on the beam angle of the GU10 bulb you install — a narrow-beam bulb creates a tight circle, a wide-beam bulb spreads light further across the ground.
