Description

The Knightsbridge SARA is a recessed LED wall washer with switchable wattage settings (30W, 35W or 40W) and switchable colour temperatures (3000K, 4000K or 5000K), set via switches on the driver before installation. The die-cast aluminium housing is finished in white powder coat and the rectangular light panel tilts through 60° to angle light up or down a wall surface.

Designed for commercial interiors where wall accent lighting is needed with flexibility to adjust output and colour temperature on-site, the SARA suits retail displays, hospitality corridors, gallery walls and office feature walls. The 225mm x 127mm rectangular cut-out fits standard ceiling voids with 145mm minimum clearance above the plasterboard. The integrated LED panel delivers between 3795 lumens (30W at 3000K) and 5235 lumens (40W at 5000K) with an 80° beam angle and CRI >80, giving a wide wash of light rather than a narrow spotlight effect.

The frosted glass diffuser softens the light output and reduces glare when viewed from below. The fitting is supplied with plug-and-play connectors for faster installation and is compatible with Knightsbridge's EMKIT2 emergency module if required for commercial fire safety compliance. The non-dimmable driver is Class II double-insulated and rated IP20 for dry interior use. The aluminium construction and SMD LED array carry a 5-year warranty and an L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours, meaning the LEDs retain 70% of initial output after 50,000 hours of use.

How are the wattage and colour temperature settings changed?

Both wattage (30W/35W/40W) and CCT (3000K/4000K/5000K) are set via switches on the driver unit before installation. Once the fitting is installed and powered, the settings are fixed unless you access the driver again. The settings should be chosen to match the room's lighting requirements before the ceiling is closed.

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 145mm clearance above the plasterboard is needed to accommodate the driver and housing. The cut-out aperture is 225mm x 127mm.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the SARA is suitable only for dry interior environments. It is not rated for bathroom zones or any area where moisture or water ingress could occur.

Is an emergency backup kit available?

Yes. The SARA is compatible with Knightsbridge's EMKIT2 emergency module, which provides backup lighting during mains power failure for commercial fire safety compliance.
