Description

The SARA is a recessed commercial LED downlight with three switchable wattage settings (30W, 35W, 40W) and three selectable colour temperatures (3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white, 5000K cool white). The fitting uses a COB LED mounted in a die-cast aluminium scoop housing finished in white powder coat, with a 190mm outer diameter and 170mm cut-out requirement.

Designed for retail, hospitality, office and commercial environments where lighting levels or colour temperature need to be set during installation or changed between tenancies, the SARA allows installers to configure output on site without stocking multiple SKUs. The scoop head rotates through 350 degrees and tilts up to 40 degrees, directing light towards walls, products or task surfaces. The fitting requires a minimum 180mm ceiling void and uses plug-and-play connectors for wiring.

The die-cast aluminium body dissipates heat from the COB LED efficiently, supporting the 50,000-hour L70B50 rating and the 5-year manufacturer warranty. The fitting delivers between 3,175 lumens (30W at 3000K) and 4,415 lumens (40W at 4000K) depending on the selected configuration, with efficacy up to 130.48 lumens per watt. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations. The SARA is non-dimmable but can be paired with the Knightsbridge EMKIT2 emergency conversion kit for maintained or non-maintained emergency operation.

Frequently Asked

How are the wattage and colour temperature adjusted?

Both settings are configured via DIP switches on the driver housing, accessible from the rear of the fitting before final installation. The three wattage options are 30W, 35W and 40W. The three colour temperatures are 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 5000K cool white. These settings are typically chosen once during installation and are not intended for end-user adjustment.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 180mm ceiling void is required to accommodate the 130mm fitting depth and allow clearance for the heat sink and driver assembly. The cut-out diameter is 170mm.

Can the SARA be dimmed?

No, the SARA is non-dimmable. The constant-current driver does not support dimming protocols. If dimming is required for a project, consider Knightsbridge's dimmable commercial downlight ranges.

Is emergency conversion available?

Yes, the SARA is compatible with the Knightsbridge EMKIT2 emergency conversion kit, which provides maintained or non-maintained emergency operation. The kit is sold separately and fitted during installation.
