This little scented candle brings a jolly old-fashioned Santa to the Christmas table, with his face printed on the side of its clear votive holder against the white candle inside. Santa is drawn in fine black lines, with a bright red hat, rosy cheeks and a big curling white beard, so the whole piece reads in a cheerful white and red. It holds 10cl and stands about 6.9cm tall and 5.4cm across, a neat round size that sits happily in the palm and tucks into small spaces without crowding them.

At Christmas we like one on a windowsill, a mantelpiece or a side table in the hall, where the warm flicker of the flame brings Santa's face to life as the evenings draw in.
