Description

The Sandvik is an 80mm square outdoor ceiling downlight in die-cast aluminium with a powder-coated graphite finish, housing a single 8W 3000K GU10 LED bulb behind clear safety glass. The fitting projects 140mm from the ceiling and directs light downward in a focused beam, casting a pool of warm white light onto the surface below.

Designed for covered porches, entrance canopies, garage soffits and undercover outdoor seating areas, the Sandvik carries an IP65 rating against dust ingress and water jets from any direction. The die-cast construction and powder-coated finish resist corrosion in coastal environments, supported by Norlys' 5-year guarantee with no coastal exclusion zone. This makes the fitting suitable for exposed seaside installations where salt air accelerates wear on standard outdoor fittings.

The compact square form and graphite finish suit contemporary and industrial exterior schemes without drawing attention away from the architecture. The 8W GU10 LED provides 640 lumens output at 3000K, sufficient to illuminate a 1.5-2m area below the fitting for safe navigation and security lighting. The clear glass diffuser maintains light output efficiency while protecting the lamp from moisture and debris.

Frequently Asked

What does the IP65 rating mean for this fitting?

IP65 means the fitting is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for exposed outdoor locations including coastal areas where rain, spray and salt air are common.

Does it come with the bulb?

Yes. The Sandvik includes one 8W 3000K GU10 LED bulb, which provides warm white light and is ready to install on arrival.

Can it be fitted to a wall instead of a ceiling?

The fitting is designed as a ceiling downlight with the lamp aperture facing downward. Mounting it on a wall would direct light horizontally rather than downward, which may not suit most applications.

What's the coastal exclusion policy?

Norlys provides a 5-year guarantee on this fitting with no coastal exclusion zone, meaning the guarantee remains valid even in salt-air environments where corrosion accelerates on standard outdoor fittings.
