Description

The Salomon is a 500mm semi-flush ceiling light with four G9 bulb fittings arranged on a polished chrome crossbar frame. Each bulb sits inside a frosted and clear glass shade shaped like a pinched rectangular form, creating both diffused ambient light through the frosted sections and directional light through the clear accents. The frame extends in an X-shaped configuration from a central chrome ceiling plate, with the four shades suspended at the ends of the arms.

Designed for rooms with standard or lower ceiling heights from 2.3m upwards, the 140mm drop keeps the fitting close to the ceiling without overwhelming the space. The semi-flush design works in bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways and living rooms where a traditional pendant would hang too low or a flush mount would provide insufficient decorative interest. The four G9 bulbs (sold separately) deliver up to 160W combined output when using halogen bulbs, or 20-32W combined using LED equivalents.

The polished chrome finish provides a mirror-like surface that reflects surrounding light and colour, making the fitting adapt visually to the room's palette. The frosted and clear glass shades diffuse the bulb glare while maintaining the angular geometry of the pinched rectangular form. Each shade measures approximately 100mm in length, giving the fitting a total spread of 500mm across the ceiling. The combined weight of 2.3kg requires fixing to a ceiling joist or a secure ceiling rose rated for the load.

The fitting takes four G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G9 is a two-pin push-fit base common in contemporary European lighting. You can use halogen G9 bulbs up to 40W each, or LED G9 equivalents between 5-8W each for lower running costs and cooler operation.
