Description

The Salomon is a 2-light wall light with an integral on/off switch, mounting two twisted frosted glass shades on a polished chrome horizontal bar and backplate. Each shade takes a G9 capsule bulb (sold separately), with the frosted glass diffusing the light while the clear outer ridges create refracted patterns on surrounding walls.

Designed for bedside walls, bathroom mirrors, hallway alcoves and living room feature walls, the 240mm width suits positions where two focused light sources are needed without the visual mass of a larger fitting. The integral rocker switch on the backplate allows the light to be controlled without adding a separate wall switch, making it useful in rooms where switching positions are awkward or where rewiring would be disruptive. The 130mm projection from the wall places the light heads forward of the mounting surface, directing light outward rather than onto the wall itself.

The polished chrome finish on the frame and backplate reflects surrounding light and pairs with modern bathroom fixtures, contemporary bedroom furniture and cool-toned interiors. What bulbs does it take?

The Salomon takes two G9 capsule bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED G9 capsules rated at 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for general use, or higher-output capsules for task lighting around mirrors.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but only when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and paired with a compatible dimmer on the circuit feeding the light. The integral switch on the fitting itself is on/off only and does not provide dimming control.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The Salomon carries no stated IP rating in the specification. It can be used in bathrooms outside splash zones (typically zone 3, more than 600mm from a bath or shower). For use closer to water sources a different fitting with IP44 or higher protection is needed.

What fixing method is used?

The backplate mounts to the wall using two screws. On plasterboard, cavity fixings rated for 1kg or above are recommended. On masonry, standard wall plugs and screws are sufficient.
