Description

The Salomon is a single-light wall fitting with a twisted frosted and clear glass shade mounted on a satin nickel bracket that incorporates an integrated rocker switch. The G9 socket accepts capsule bulbs up to 40W (sold separately), and the glass shade combines frosted and clear facets in a geometric twist that diffuses light while allowing some direct beam to escape through the clear sections.

Designed for bedside positions, hallway accent lighting, and bathroom zones 2 and 3, the integrated switch allows the light to be controlled without reaching for a separate wall switch or pull cord. The 130mm projection from the wall and 150mm height suit typical bedside table heights and narrow hallway widths where a protruding fitting would obstruct passage. The compact 90mm width means two Salomon fittings can be mounted either side of a mirror or headboard without visual crowding.

The satin nickel finish is a brushed mid-tone metal that sits between polished chrome and brushed steel, giving a softer reflection than chrome while maintaining a contemporary metal accent. The twisted glass shade measures approximately 60mm across at its widest point and the geometric faceting means light output varies depending on viewing angle — direct views catch more beam, while oblique views show mostly diffused glow. The rocker switch is integrated into the backplate and operates with a single press.

Is this dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The integrated rocker switch on the fitting itself is on/off only and does not provide dimming control.

What bulb does it take?

The Salomon takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED G9 bulb between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for bedside or hallway use.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Salomon does not carry an IP rating in the specification provided, so it is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the shower enclosure and more than 600mm from a bath or basin) but should not be installed in zone 0 or 1 where direct water contact or spray is possible.

How is the integrated switch operated?

The rocker switch is built into the satin nickel backplate and operates with a single press. It controls on/off only and does not affect dimming if a dimmer is present elsewhere on the circuit.
