Description

The Sally is an 85mm round recessed downlight with an integrated 11W COB LED producing warm 3000K light through a recessed cone reflector, set within a matt black trim ring. The die-cast aluminium housing mounts into plasterboard or panel ceilings with the black trim sitting flush to the ceiling surface once installed.

Designed for kitchens, hallways, bathrooms (outside splash zones) and commercial spaces needing accent or functional downlighting, the Sally provides directional warm white light without a visible bulb. The fixed cone directs light downwards with minimal spill, making it suitable for task lighting over worktops, illuminating corridors, or highlighting features in retail and hospitality interiors. The 85mm diameter suits standard ceiling cut-outs and integrates cleanly into grid or plasterboard ceilings.

The black powder-coated trim gives a defined edge against white or light-toned ceilings and pairs with modern, industrial and monochrome interiors where visible white downlight rings would break the colour palette. The IP40 rating provides dust ingress protection, maintaining output over time in typical indoor environments. The COB LED is non-dimmable and runs directly from mains voltage without requiring separate drivers in most installations.

Is the Sally dimmable?

No. The integrated 11W COB LED is non-dimmable and runs at a fixed output from mains voltage. Connecting it to a dimmer circuit may cause flicker or failure.

What ceiling cut-out is required?

The 85mm diameter trim typically requires a cut-out of approximately 70-75mm depending on the mounting clip configuration. Check the installation guide for the exact cut-out diameter before making the ceiling aperture.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP40 rating provides dust protection but does not protect against water ingress. The Sally can be installed in bathrooms outside zones 0, 1 and 2 (typically over 2.25m from a bath or shower tray), where there is no direct splash risk.

What colour temperature is 3000K?

3000K produces warm white light with a slight yellow cast, similar to traditional halogen downlights. It is warmer than 4000K neutral white and suits residential and hospitality interiors where a cosy ambiance is preferred over clinical brightness.
