Description

The Sal is a 1010mm linear suspension light carrying six adjustable GU10 spotlights along a matt black bar, each spotlight finished in satin gold with a cylindrical head that pivots independently to direct light where needed. The suspension cables allow the bar to hang 1000-1500mm below the ceiling, positioning the spotlights at a typical working height above kitchen islands, dining tables or workbenches.

Designed for kitchens, dining rooms and home offices where directed task lighting is required alongside ambient light, the Sal provides six points of individually aimable illumination across a metre-long span. Each spotlight takes a GU10 bulb (sold separately), allowing the user to choose wattage, colour temperature and beam angle to suit the room. Dimmable GU10 LEDs paired with a compatible dimmer give control over brightness from full task-light intensity to low background wash.

The satin gold finish on each spotlight head provides a warm metallic accent against the matt black bar and canopy, giving the fitting a two-tone appearance that works in both industrial-style kitchens with exposed brick and contemporary dining rooms with neutral palettes. The cylindrical heads measure approximately 50mm diameter and 80mm length, sized to provide visual presence without dominating a typical 4-5m kitchen island. Each head pivots on a ball joint, locking into position once angled, so the light pattern can be set during installation and adjusted later as furniture layouts change.

The Sal takes six GU10 bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with GU10 LED bulbs between 4-6W and 3000K warm white for kitchen or dining use. The fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to the maximum wattage recommended by Mantra.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable GU10 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming but the bulbs and dimmer must also be dimmer-compatible for the system to work.

Can the spotlight heads be adjusted after installation?

Yes. Each of the six spotlight heads pivots on a ball joint, allowing it to be angled independently to direct light onto specific areas. The heads can be re-angled at any time without tools.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1000mm minimum drop means the bar will hang approximately 1m below the ceiling rose. For a kitchen island, the bar typically sits 700-900mm above the worktop, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The maximum 1500mm drop allows the fitting to be used in taller rooms or where a lower hang is preferred.
