Description

The Sal is a 1.2m floor lamp built from a slender matt black vertical stem set on a circular weighted base, with a single satin gold spotlight head at the top that pivots on a curved gooseneck arm. The spotlight housing takes a standard GU10 bulb (sold separately) and can be angled to direct light onto a reading position, a desk surface, or a specific wall area.

Designed as task lighting rather than ambient fill, the Sal suits positions next to armchairs for evening reading, beside sofas where directed light is needed without overhead glare, and in home offices or study areas where a secondary light source complements a desk lamp. The 210mm-diameter weighted base provides stability on bare floors and short-pile rugs without needing wall support. The 1.2m height positions the spotlight head above typical seated eye-line, reducing direct glare when angled correctly.

The contrast between the matt black stem and the satin gold spotlight head gives the lamp a two-tone finish that pairs well with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors mixing warm metallics with darker neutrals. The satin gold finish on the spotlight housing softens reflections compared to polished brass and wears less visibly over time. The lamp takes a standard GU10 bulb, sold separately. We suggest pairing this with a 5-7W GU10 LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for reading light, though higher wattages up to the GU10 maximum can be used for brighter task lighting.

Can the spotlight head be adjusted?

Yes. The satin gold spotlight head pivots on a curved gooseneck arm, allowing it to be angled downwards towards a reading position, horizontally across a desk surface, or upwards to wash light onto a wall or ceiling.

Is the Sal dimmable?

The lamp itself supports dimming when paired with a dimmable GU10 LED bulb and a compatible wall dimmer. Standard non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will operate at full brightness only.
