Description

The Sal is a single-light floor lamp built around a slim matt white metal stem rising 1235mm from a 210mm circular base, topped with a cylindrical spotlight head that takes a GU10 bulb. The head pivots on a ball joint, allowing light to be directed onto a reading position, a desktop, or up onto a wall for indirect ambient wash.

Designed as task lighting for reading corners next to armchairs, beside sofas, or alongside desks in home offices, the Sal delivers directed light from a compact footprint. The 210mm base diameter sits comfortably on side tables, narrow shelving units, or directly on the floor without requiring clearance space around it. The matt white finish pairs cleanly with contemporary, Scandinavian and minimalist interiors where a neutral palette is maintained.

The lamp accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to the manufacturer's recommended wattage and is dimmable when paired with a dimmable GU10 LED and a compatible dimmer switch. The metal construction gives the fitting a 3.65kg weight that stabilises the stem despite the narrow base. The cylindrical head measures approximately 90mm in diameter and shields glare when the lamp is angled downwards for reading.

What bulb does it take?

The Sal takes a standard GU10 bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W GU10 LED in 2700K-3000K warm white for reading or task lighting.

Can the head be adjusted?

Yes. The cylindrical spotlight head pivots on a ball joint, allowing it to be angled downwards for reading, across to a desk surface, or upwards onto a wall for indirect ambient light.

Is it dimmable?

The lamp supports dimming when fitted with a dimmable GU10 bulb and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. The dimmer must be rated for LED if using an LED GU10.

Is the base stable on carpets?

The 210mm circular base and 3.65kg weight provide stability on most short-pile carpets and rugs. On thick or shag pile the lamp benefits from being placed where the base sits flat against a firmer surface.
