Description

The Sahara is a 380mm vertical LED wall light with an integrated 6W 2800K LED behind a frosted polycarbonate diffuser, set into a flowing brown oxide aluminium frame. The frame curves in a double-helix form, with two parallel ribbons of metal wrapping around the central diffuser panel, casting warm white light forwards at a 120° beam angle and producing 420 lumens.

A touch-sensitive dimmer is built into the wall plate, allowing the light level to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low ambient setting without needing a separate dimmer switch on the circuit. This makes the Sahara suitable for bedrooms where brightness needs to be lowered before sleep, hallways where full output is needed for navigation but lower levels preferred in the evening, and living rooms where the light level can be tailored to different activities. The wall plate measures 50mm wide and projects 86mm from the wall surface.

The brown oxide finish on the aluminium frame sits between dark bronze and deep rust brown, with a matte surface that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. The colour pairs naturally with warm timber tones, terracotta, ochre and clay interiors, and provides contrast against white or pale grey walls. The frosted polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED source and prevents visible hot spots or striping, giving an even distribution of warm light across the full height of the fitting.

The Sahara operates on 100-240V mains voltage and draws 6W at full brightness. The integrated LED is rated for 2800K, which sits at the warmer end of the warm white spectrum and produces a more amber-toned light than standard 3000K LEDs. The light is non-replaceable but carries a 3-year warranty from Mantra.

The Sahara carries no IP rating and is designed for dry interior use only. It should not be installed in bathrooms or other areas where water ingress is possible.

What colour temperature is 2800K?

2800K is warm white with a stronger amber tone than the more common 3000K LEDs. It produces a warmer, more golden-toned light closer to incandescent halogen bulbs, rather than the cooler neutral white of daylight-rated LEDs.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The unit carries a 3-year warranty from Mantra covering LED failure or dimming performance.
