Description
The Sag Harbor is a 413mm tall outdoor wall lantern built around a rectangular aluminium frame finished in black, with clear glass panels on all four sides and a curved top cap. A single E27 bulb sits inside the glazed enclosure (sold separately), with the clear glass allowing light to project through 360 degrees around the fitting. The IP44 rating provides protection against water spray from any direction, making the lantern suitable for UK porches, patio walls, garage entrances and garden pathways exposed to rain.
Designed for residential and light commercial outdoor lighting, the Sag Harbor mounts to a standard UK back box with a 190mm projection from the wall. The 140mm width and compact footprint suit narrow porch walls, gate posts and the sides of garage doors where larger coach lanterns would overwhelm the architecture. The lantern pairs well with both traditional brickwork and modern rendered exteriors, and can be installed at typical porch heights of 1.8-2.2m above ground level to provide entrance lighting without glare at eye level.
The black powder-coated aluminium resists corrosion in coastal and urban environments, while the glass panels are set into gasket-sealed frames to keep moisture out of the lamp chamber. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose warm white for ambient porch lighting or daylight white for security and pathway visibility. The curved top cap echoes traditional lantern styling without adding ornament, keeping the design clean enough to pair with contemporary door furniture.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 means the lantern is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm (including insects and dust) and water spray from any direction. This makes it suitable for UK porches, covered patios and wall-mounted positions exposed to rain, but not for direct water jets or submersion.
What bulb should I use?
The lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb at 2700K-3000K for ambient porch lighting, or a daylight 4000K LED for security and pathway visibility. Bulbs are sold separately.
Can it be fitted to a brick wall?
Yes. The lantern mounts to a standard UK back box fixed to brick, stone, render or timber cladding. The 190mm projection from the wall includes the back plate and lantern body. Installation requires a qualified electrician to wire the fitting to mains power.
How is the glass cleaned?
The clear glass panels can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and glass cleaner. The gasket-sealed frames prevent moisture from entering the lamp chamber, but the glass will collect dust, pollen and rain marks in outdoor positions and benefits from periodic cleaning to maintain light output.
