Description

This rainbow photo frame brings a gentle parade of safari animals to a little one's room, with a lion, a zebra, an elephant and a giraffe standing in a row along its base. The arch is finished in soft orange with pastel rainbow bands beneath and a crisp white edge, and the four animals are cut out as raised shapes that sit proud of the rainbow. The photograph sits in a window at the centre of the arch, framed by the colour on every side. Made from MDF, it measures 15.5cm high, 24cm wide and 4cm deep, a neat size that fits on a nursery shelf without crowding it.

We think it suits a nursery best, on a chest of drawers, a bookcase or a windowsill where a favourite early photograph can be seen every day. It is a lovely gift for a baby or a toddler up to three years old, and a keepsake to treasure as the child grows. The orange and natural colouring sits happily with pale greys, creams and soft woods, so it works in a family room as easily as in a child's bedroom. It is a piece for display rather than a toy, so we would place it on a shelf or surface where it can be admired.

The rainbow panel slots into a natural wood-coloured base, so the frame stands freely on any flat surface and needs no wall or hook. At the back, four turn clips hold the backing board in place, making it simple to open the frame and change the photograph whenever you like. To care for it, dust with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from water and damp, as you would any MDF piece. For a gift, slip in a favourite family photograph before wrapping it, so it is ready to stand on a shelf the moment it is opened.
