Sabina 2 Light E27 Pendant Light 1.12m Drop - Imitation Wood

Two brown linen shades hang from a slim horizontal bar in an imitation wood finish, so the fitting reads more like a piece of furniture than hardware. The bar spans 1.12m, which sets the shades far enough apart to light along a table rather than in one hot pool. Linen softens the light on the way out and the wood tone keeps it warm, so what you get is a gentle ambient spread rather than a tight downward beam. The drop adjusts over a generous span, so it can hang low over a worktop or higher where headroom is tight. Each holder takes an E27 lamp.

It earns its keep over a kitchen island, a long dining table or a breakfast bar, where a single round pendant would leave the ends dim. We would fit LED GLS lamps in a warm white, up to 40W apiece, and the fitting will dim if you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer, neither of which comes with it. It works on a wide landing or over a console too, anywhere the light needs to travel sideways. Keep it to rooms that stay dry, well clear of splashes and steam.

The shades are brown linen on a frame finished to imitate wood, and the fitting is double insulated throughout. It carries a one year warranty. For care, lift dust from the linen with a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting, and give the bar a dry wipe; leave solvents and damp cloths alone, as fabric marks easily. What lamps does it take?

Two E27 lamps, each up to 40W. LED GLS (A60) lamps are the sensible choice here, and a warm white will sit best with the brown linen and wood tone.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer. Neither the lamps nor a dimmer are supplied.

How low will it hang?

The drop is adjustable from 600mm to 2000mm, so it can be set close over a kitchen island or high enough to clear a walkway.

How wide is the fitting?

The bar measures 1120mm long and 300mm wide, with the two shades spaced along it. Allow a little clearance at each end when planning a position over a table.

How should I clean the linen shades?

Switch off first, then use a soft brush or a vacuum on its lowest setting to lift dust. Do not wet the fabric or use cleaning sprays; the bar needs only a dry cloth.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which suits dry rooms such as kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms and hallways rather than bathrooms or covered outdoor areas.
