Description
The Sabik LED WW is a low-output recessed step light that sits flush into the wall to mark stairs, treads and low-level routes. It draws just 0.8W and runs on a 12V DC supply, giving 13 lumens of warm white light at 3000K. Across the Atlantic a fitting like this is known as a step light too, and the term carries the same meaning: a small wall-set marker that grazes the surface below it rather than lighting a whole space. The square steel face measures 75 x 75 mm, keeping the visible footprint neat against tiles, plaster or timber cladding.
The Sabik suits indoor stairwells, hallway skirting lines and the base of feature walls, where a gentle wash at foot level guides movement without glare. Because it is a 12V low-voltage fitting it is intended for run-off a suitable transformer or driver, and several units can be set along a flight of stairs to pick out each step. At 13 lumens its job is marking and orientation rather than ambient room lighting, so think of it as a soft pool of light around each fixture rather than coverage measured by area. Keep it to dry indoor locations, as the IP20 rating means it is not suitable for bathrooms, porches or any outdoor or damp position.
Construction is polished stainless steel with a plastic body, and the steel face resists everyday knocks and fingerprints in busy circulation areas. The fitting is rated IP20 for dry indoor use and is not dimmable, running at a fixed warm white output. It recesses into the wall, so a suitable cut-out is needed in the chosen surface, and at 92 g it is light enough to set into plasterboard or masonry alike. Rated for 50,000 hours, the integrated LED is designed to last the life of the fitting. The wider Sabik range includes matching low-level markers for building out a consistent stairway scheme.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a 12V transformer or driver?
Yes. The Sabik runs on 12V DC, so it must be connected to a suitable low-voltage transformer or driver rather than wired straight to the mains. Where several units run along one flight of stairs, size the transformer to cover their combined 0.8W draw.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which covers dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, gardens and any damp or exposed position, and use it for indoor stairwells and hallways instead.
How is it installed in the wall?
It is a recessed wall fitting, so it sits flush into a cut-out in the chosen surface. The 75 x 75 mm square face finishes neatly against tiles, plaster or timber, and at 92 g it is light enough for both plasterboard and masonry.
How do I clean the steel face?
Wipe the polished stainless steel face with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it off to keep the finish bright. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh solvents, which can mark the steel and the plastic body around it.
