Description

The Sabah is a 55cm rattan pendant light built around a sculptural curved shade woven from natural rattan, finished in patinated white and suspended from a white ceiling rose. The shade curves organically in an asymmetric dome shape, with open weaving that allows light to pass through the gaps and cast dappled shadow patterns on surrounding surfaces. An E27 8W dimmable LED bulb is included inside the shade.

Designed for bedrooms, kitchen islands, and living areas with coastal, Scandinavian or natural material palettes, the Sabah works as a single pendant over a bedside table or in multiples hung at staggered heights over dining tables and kitchen counters. The adjustable drop allows installation between 45cm and 240cm from the ceiling, giving flexibility for different ceiling heights and the option to cluster multiple pendants at varying levels.

The white finish on the rattan softens the natural material without concealing the woven texture, and the patinated treatment means the finish is irregularly applied, showing more grain and texture variation than a solid paint coat. The shade weighs 1.62kg and the curved profile extends 52cm in depth, making it visually substantial without requiring structural ceiling reinforcement. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor areas only.

The included 8W LED bulb produces 870 lumens at a warm colour temperature, providing functional light for task areas while the rattan diffuses the output to reduce glare. The bulb is dimmable when paired with compatible LED dimmers, allowing adjustment for ambient evening use or brighter task lighting during daytime.

Does this come with a bulb?

Yes. The Sabah includes a single E27 8W dimmable LED bulb rated at 870 lumens. The bulb is replaceable with any standard E27 fitting up to 20W maximum.

Is the bulb dimmable?

The included LED bulb is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED dimmer switch. Check the dimmer manufacturer's specification to confirm compatibility with 8W LED loads before installation.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor areas only and is not protected against moisture. Do not install in bathrooms, conservatories or any room where condensation or water splashes are present.

How is the rattan shade maintained?

Dust the rattan weave with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable but avoid soaking the natural material. Do not use chemical sprays or polishes on the rattan or the white finish.
