Description

The Rosolini is a swivel chair with a rise and fall seat, upholstered in white bouclé and set on a black metal base. Bouclé is made from looped yarn, which gives it a nubbly, textured surface, and here it covers a rounded tub shape whose back curves forward into the arms. The chair measures 64cm wide, 64cm deep and 76cm high, with a 43 x 44cm seat and arms 62cm from the floor. Check the width against your desk's kneehole and the arm height against the underside of the desk top: together they decide whether the chair tucks in or sits out in front.

It is made for the home office, and we would put it just as happily at a desk in a spare room or a bedroom corner, where a working chair is on show as part of the room. The swivel turns you to a shelf or a printer without pushing back, and the rise and fall action raises or lowers the seat rather than fixing it at one height. The arms and back are one shell with the seat, so they travel with it and the 62cm arm height changes as you adjust. Four legs with small round feet stand in place of castors, so the seat turns but the chair does not roll, which suits anyone who would rather it stayed in one spot.

Polyester is the only fibre in the material composition of 50% polyester, 30% plywood and 20% iron, so this is a synthetic bouclé rather than a wool one, which is worth knowing if you are comparing chairs. Partial assembly is required. No. The four black metal legs end in small round feet rather than castors, so the seat swivels but the chair itself does not roll across the floor.

Will the arms fit under my desk?
