Description

The Knightsbridge RMS is an in-wall Bluetooth speaker outlet with a matt white screwless faceplate, designed to be wired into mains power like a standard socket or switch. The speaker grille sits behind a square-edged metal faceplate that clips onto a separate mounting frame, leaving no visible screws on the finished wall. The unit pairs with Bluetooth devices within range and delivers audio playback at up to 80dB output.

Designed for kitchens, bathrooms (IP20 rated for zones 3+), hallways and home offices where an in-wall speaker offers cleaner aesthetics than a standalone unit on a shelf or worktop, the RMS removes the need for batteries or visible cables. The speaker is mains-powered at 230V 50Hz, so once installed it remains permanently available without recharging. The 87.5mm square plate matches the footprint of Knightsbridge's standard switch and socket ranges, allowing it to sit in-line with existing fittings for a consistent wall finish.

The matt white finish provides a neutral backdrop that blends into painted walls and works across modern, traditional and transitional interiors without drawing visual attention. The screwless plate construction means the faceplate can be removed for redecorating or cleaning and re-clipped without re-wiring. A 35mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The speaker unit recesses 27.3mm into the wall, with the faceplate projecting 9.7mm from the finished wall surface once fitted.

Is the RMS battery-powered or mains-powered?

The RMS is mains-powered at 230V 50Hz and requires wiring by a qualified electrician. Once installed it remains permanently available without battery charging or replacement.

What is the audio output level?

The speaker delivers up to 80dB output, which is comparable to background music in a café or moderate-volume speech. This suits kitchens, bathrooms and home offices but is not designed for high-volume playback in larger open-plan rooms.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits the RMS to bathroom zones 3 and beyond (outside the shower enclosure and more than 600mm from a tap or basin). It cannot be installed in zones 0, 1 or 2 where direct water contact or high humidity occurs.
