Description

The Riviera-2 is a single light pendant with a ribbed glass shade shaped like a miniature barrel, suspended on a brushed nickel canopy and cord. The glass shade measures 147mm diameter by 270mm tall and carries vertical ridges that refract light from the E27 bulb inside (sold separately), creating a textured glow rather than a harsh spotlight. The brushed nickel hardware includes a rounded canopy and a metal collar that clamps around the top of the glass.

Designed for use above kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and bathroom vanities, the Riviera-2 works as a single statement piece or in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart to create a repeated accent along a worktop. The adjustable drop ranges from 368mm minimum to 2168mm maximum on installation, with 2000mm of cable provided. The pendant fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable can be shortened by an electrician during fitting to set the exact drop height needed.

The ribbed glass shade gives the pendant a vintage apothecary aesthetic similar to old perfume bottles or medicine jars, while the brushed nickel finish keeps it visually neutral enough to pair with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and both warm-toned and grey-palette interiors. The metal components carry a low-sheen brushed finish that reduces reflections and fingerprint visibility compared to polished nickel. The glass shade weighs approximately 800g and the total fixture weight including metalwork is around 1.2kg.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2700K for a vintage aesthetic that suits the ribbed glass.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable only during installation. The 2000mm cable can be shortened by an electrician to set the exact height needed. Once fitted, the pendant hangs at a fixed height unless re-wired.

How many pendants are needed above a kitchen island?

For a typical 1.8-2.4m kitchen island, two or three Riviera-2 pendants spaced 400-600mm apart provide balanced task lighting. Single pendants work above breakfast bars or small dining tables where one light source is sufficient.

Is the glass removable for cleaning?

Yes. The metal collar unscrews to release the glass shade, allowing it to be cleaned separately. Wipe the ribbed glass with a damp microfibre cloth and dry thoroughly before reassembly to avoid water marks in the ridges.
