The Riverwood is an outdoor chain pendant from Kichler with a weathered zinc finish, a clear seeded glass cylinder and a metal cage guard around the glass. The pendant takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) inside the glass shade and is IP44 rated for outdoor use under cover. The zinc finish mimics aged metal exposed to coastal air, giving the fitting a weathered patina straight from the factory.

Designed for covered porches, entrance canopies and outdoor loggias where the IP44 rating provides protection from rain splashes and moisture but not direct exposure to downpour or submersion. The 203mm diameter suits narrow porch widths and entryway zones where a larger pendant would overpower the space. The chain allows the drop to be adjusted between 400mm and 1980mm on installation, so the pendant can be set higher under a shallow porch roof or lower where ceiling height permits.

The seeded glass cylinder shows small bubbles and texture variation in the glass itself, scattering light outward rather than directing it downward in a focused beam. This gives the Riverwood a softer, more diffuse light spread than a clear smooth-glass pendant, reducing glare when you stand directly under it. The metal cage around the glass is structural rather than purely decorative, protecting the glass from knocks during installation and from contact with furniture or doorframes in tight entrance zones.

The weathered zinc finish pairs with coastal, industrial and farmhouse exterior schemes. Kichler applies the finish as a multi-stage process to create the tonal variation and surface texture of naturally aged zinc, so the pendant does not need to weather further over time to achieve the look shown in the product image.

No. The IP44 rating protects against rain splashes and moisture but not direct exposure to heavy rain or submersion. The pendant is designed for covered porches, canopies and loggias where it sits under a roof overhang. Fully exposed positions require a higher IP rating such as IP65.

What bulb should I use?

The pendant takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to complement the weathered zinc finish and seeded glass. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is the chain length adjustable?

Yes. The 1620mm chain allows the drop to be adjusted between 400mm and 1980mm during installation by shortening the chain before fixing the canopy to the ceiling. Once installed, the drop is fixed unless the fitting is removed and the chain length reset.

Does the weathered zinc finish change over time?

No. Kichler applies the weathered finish as a factory process to create the aged zinc appearance. The finish does not need to weather further and should not change significantly over time unless exposed to extreme coastal salt spray or industrial pollutants beyond normal outdoor conditions.
