The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are not included. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading or bedside use.

Is the shade removable for bulb changes?

Yes. The shade lifts off the lamp harp to access the bulb fitting. The hard-backed construction means the shade holds its shape when removed and replaced.

What surface does the porcelain base need?

The 140mm circular base sits flat on any level surface. The porcelain and metal construction gives the lamp a low centre of gravity, so it's stable on side tables, desks and bedside tables without needing anti-slip pads in most cases.

Can the shade be replaced with a different colour?

The shade is a standard drum fitting that sits on a harp-style frame. Replacement shades with the same 360mm diameter and harp-compatible fitting will work, though Elstead Lighting does not sell the shade separately as a replacement part.
