Description

The Rim is a 40cm diameter circular wall light formed from a single aluminium ring in a brass finish, with an integrated 25W LED strip running along the inner edge. The LED faces the wall rather than outward, so the light reflects off the wall surface and bounces back through the ring aperture, creating an indirect glow rather than direct glare.

Designed for corridors, bedroom accent walls, either side of mirrors, and as feature lighting in living spaces, the Rim works where wall-washing or soft background light is needed rather than task illumination. The 40cm diameter suits standard residential wall installations and the IP20 rating confirms indoor-only use. The backplate sits flush to the wall with the ring projecting approximately 40mm out from the mounting surface.

The brass finish on the aluminium ring shows a warm metallic tone that pairs with gold-toned hardware, warm timber and classical or mid-century interiors. The 3000K colour temperature of the LED matches warm white incandescent and creates a soft ambient light when reflected. The integrated LED is powered directly from mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer switch model used. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with 25W LED loads.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is for dry indoor use only and not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor locations. For bathroom wall lights, look for fittings with IP44 or higher ratings.

What colour is the light output?

The integrated LED is fixed at 3000K, which is warm white — comparable to traditional incandescent bulbs. The light reflects off the wall behind the ring rather than shining directly outward, so the final colour appearance depends partly on the wall colour.

How is the brass finish maintained?

Wipe the aluminium ring with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or marks, use a barely-damp cloth with water only. Avoid brass polishes or chemical cleaners as they may affect the factory-applied finish.
