Description

The Riley is a 270mm wide rectangular wall light with an ivory faux silk shade mounted on an aged brass backplate. The shade is a three-sided box construction with open top and bottom, allowing light from a single E27 bulb to cast both upward and downward while the fabric diffuses forward-facing light into a soft ambient glow.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and living room accent positions, the Riley provides indirect wash lighting up the wall and down towards the floor rather than direct task light. The 128mm projection from the wall gives the shade enough depth to sit clear of the backplate and create visual interest in profile. The half-shade design works particularly well on narrow walls where a full pendant would overwhelm the space, or flanking artwork and mirrors where symmetrical pairs frame a central feature.

The aged brass backplate has a satin finish with subtle tonal variation that suggests natural patina rather than polished metal. The ivory faux silk shade is stitched at the edges to hold its rectangular form and shows the fine vertical texture of the fabric weave when backlit. The combination of warm brass and neutral ivory pairs comfortably with both traditional woodwork and contemporary neutral interiors.
