The Riley is a 38cm diameter bell pendant light combining a cognac-tinted glass shade with an antique brass metal frame. The bell-shaped glass sits inside a hinged brass collar at the base, allowing the lower half of the frame to swing open for bulb access without removing the entire fitting. A single E27 bulb inside the glass (sold separately) casts warm light through the cognac tint, softening the beam and creating a diffused glow.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and hallway positions where a single pendant provides both task and ambient light, the Riley suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The adjustable drop ranges from 650mm to 1620mm, allowing the pendant to be set 700-800mm above a dining surface or hung lower over a console table in an entrance hall. The antique brass finish carries a slightly aged patina that pairs with both traditional oak and walnut furniture and warmer contemporary interiors.

The cognac glass is a warm amber tone rather than clear, which reduces glare from exposed filament bulbs and creates a softer light output than clear glass equivalents. The hinged base frame is fixed with two small brass catches on opposite sides of the collar, making bulb replacement straightforward without needing to unscrew ceiling fixings or handle the chain. At 3.5kg, the pendant has enough weight to hang stable on a standard ceiling rose without additional bracing.

What bulb does the Riley take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W and 2200K-2700K to complement the cognac glass tint.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming — the bulb and dimmer determine performance.

How is the bulb changed?

The lower brass collar is hinged and secured with two small catches on opposite sides. Release the catches and the bottom half of the frame swings down, giving access to the bulb without needing to unscrew the ceiling rose or handle the chain.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 650mm minimum drop plus the 38cm shade height means the pendant needs at least 2.4m ceiling height when hung at minimum extension. For dining tables, the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with 2.4-2.7m ceilings.
