Description

The Ribbon Knot is a 34.5cm cast aluminium figurine formed from a continuous swirling ribbon that loops into itself, creating an abstract knot shape. The sculpture sits on a solid black wooden base and weighs 1.5kg, giving it stability on console tables, coffee tables, sideboards and mantels without needing fixing.

Designed as a freestanding decorative accent, the piece works in contemporary, minimalist and monochrome interiors where sculptural forms replace traditional ornament. The looping ribbon creates multiple voids and apertures through the form, so the sculpture reads differently from each viewing angle. This makes it suitable as a centrepiece on a circular table or as part of a layered styling arrangement on a console where it can be viewed from multiple sides.

The cast aluminium has a rough-textured finish with visible surface variation — darker oxide tones on the upper loop transition to lighter bare metal on the lower curves. This textural contrast is a result of the casting and finishing process, not a defect.
